Director's Report
CrossWord Café … from the director’s desk:
Our expanded regular open times since September 2007 are:
- Monday – Thursday 3-5 pm
- Tuesday & Thursday 7-9 pm [high school only]
- Weekend shows/concerts as scheduled
Special opportunities during these times:
- Free art lessons with Brittany DuPont 4-5 pm every Tuesday
- Free guitar lessons with Brent Ressler 3-5 pm every Tuesday
- Free homework help and tutoring
Other groups that the Café is currently facilitating:
- CBC Men’s Wednesday Group 6-7 am
- CBC junior high Midway cell groups Wednesday 6-8 pm
Activities and acknowledgements:
- Participated in Chillicothe's Merchant Trick or Treat
- Café Jam at the Café (with coffee) … everybody welcome to play or listen (free lessons) … 1st Monday of month … started November 5th.
- Thanks to Bradley University senior consulting project for their input on improvements for the Café.
- The Chillicothe Foundation awarded the Café a grant for art lessons taking place this school year. Come check out the work that the students are doing under the leadership of Brittany Du Pont. We also thank Brittany for her input for the grant request.
- Every week we have more students benefiting from our expanded open hours. More relationships being built, more tutoring and homework help happening & more time for music lessons and hanging out. Please thank our volunteer staff for allowing us to move to the expanded hours.
- Santa hung out at Café after the Christmas Parade.
- Last acknowledgement. Thanks to all who made the 13th Chillicothe Rib Classic Auction a success. $2,377.00 was raised for the Café through this effort.
