Friends,
The following notes are from students that participated in the 2010/2011 Café Art lessons and went on the Field Trip to the Art Institute of Chicago. The lessons and trip are free to the students through a grant from the Chillicothe Foundation. Artist/Teacher, Brittany DuPont, volunteers her time to lead this program.
Going to Chicago has made me learn so much. I now know that every little detail in your life can be a part of your art works. The food was splendid … like the art. The city was beautiful … [Sebrina]
I really appreciated the art lessons I received this year, not only because I want to major in art, but because I got to learn new media to work with in art. Thank you so much … to the Chillicothe Foundation for making my art lessons possible. [Morgan]
CrossWord Café’s art lessons have been so fun, but also educational. When we went to the Art Institute, I learned so much, but also used what I knew to show that I listened … Thank You so much. It was great. Before I went to the café my art was bad, but now it’s awesome. Thank you so much. [Kolton]
The Café has an amazing art teacher and art lessons. The trip was awesome … most of us had never been there and we saw amazing and famous art. Thank you oh so much. [Rhoni]
The art lessons that the CrossWord Café provides are a wonderful thing. With art budgets being cut from schools, it is awesome that I have a place to take lessons. I would like to thank you (Chillicothe Foundation & Brittany) for the opportunity to visit the Art Institute in Chicago. [Shelby]
Thank you for the Chicago art trip. I really enjoyed Millennium Park, the skyscrapers and the Art Institute … and getting so close to the sea gulls. So thank you so much. [Raven & Chelsea]
Yes, we definitely did have another great art program this year.
